398. Justice K A Abdul Gafoor



Former Kerala High Court Judge and the former chairman of the Kerala Agricultural Debt Relief Commission.

 K.A. Abdul Gafoor was born on 24-2-1945 to Janab  ABDULLA MOULAVI.  After graduation he took employment in the Telephone Department in 1965.  In 1970 he graduated in Law from Ernakulam Law College, resigned his job and joined the Bar.  He was taking active part in Employees Unions affairs and was also Secretary of the Cochin Port Dock Employees Union.  He was a Government Pleader between the Years 1979 and 1982.  He was Standing Counsel for the GCDA and other institutions.  He has specialised greatly in Service Law and Education matters.

His lordship has got good knowledge on handling of computers and its applications. His lordship is in administrative charge of the Kasargaud District, subordinate judi









Gafoor was appointed as Permanent Judge of the Kerala High Court in January, 1996. On retiring as HC judge, Gafoor was appointed as the commission chairman in 2007 and retired in March 2012. He  enrolled as an advocate in April, 1970, and practised at the High Court of Kerala and subordinate courts at Ernakulam in service law, labour laws and civil laws. He worked as Government Pleader at the High Court from June 1979 to January 1983 and also as Standing Counsel for Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation and Greater Cochin Development Authority.
